Fan of the Rhine and heraldry
G'day from Australia!
I am a new citizen of this new micronation. When I was young, I remember travelling along the Rhine and enjoying it immensely - I believe that experience should be available to future generations, also, and that is one of the reasons why I applied for citizenship.
The other is my love of heraldry. I am an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), where I have the honour of being appointed Frette Rouge Herald, in the Barony of Innilgard (mundanely known as Adelaide, South Australia).
I look forward to exploring the potential of Rheinbergen for good, in promoting the ecological management of the Rhine, and honouring our citizens for their participation.
Regards,
Tony

Re: Introduce yourself!
Good afternoon fellow citizens I am proud to announce that I am by proclaimation of the Prince your Royal Entomologist. I will be looking at protecting the local native insect species that inhabit our country and will look at over time eradicating all introduced pest species from our beloved country. So if you have any ideas on how this can be done let me know. In addition I am also the Vexillological consultant the Royal Colleges of Heralds. More news on this at a later date

Re: Introduce yourself!
Hi Paul
Welcome. I used to be a great fan of entomology too, but I'm afraid I let it slide in favour of etymology, well actually translation, but I had to slip that one in .
In this connection, however, I was amused by Wilhelm Busch's story of the thwarted poet (Balduin Bählamm der verhinderte Dichter) and decided to set the part about the earwig to music. (Poor innocent earwig never stood a chance! But then neither did Bählamm's poetic inspiration!)
Here's the original version (in German)
and here's the version in my English translation:
I imagine the scene was not too far from the Rhine, but I can't be sure....

Re: Introduce yourself!
Greetings to all!
I am pleased that our Sovereign Prince has allowed me to join the citizenry of Rheinbergen. With a general interest in all things heraldic and vexillological for many years I look forward to seeing how such interests develop in the Principality.
Although I grew up in Northern Ireland, I am now resident in Gibraltar, just to the south of Spain.
Yours sincerely,
John Carchrie Campbell

Re: Introduce yourself!
My thanks to his serene Highness for accepting me as a citizen of his micronation.
I am an aspiring polymath at the risk of becoming a jack-of-all-disciplines yet master (mistress?) of none. My formal training was in the visual arts although with the help and longsuffering patience of my family I am a self-taught amateur musician. I am still interested in information technology, although the technology continues to advance more rapidly than my ability to update my skills.
And I am guilty of the publication of two anthologies of short stories with related music, available from obooko.com (Published under the name of Kittybriton) or from myself upon request. I am also the custodian of my late father's legacy of musical compositions, again, I will supply further information upon request.
